Saturday June 19, 2010

The VRT Team was hoping that the Struggles with finding the Set-Up for Jesse's Hotrod and Adam's weak Motor would not be a factor this week WELL the later came full circle as Adam's Good run in the Feature was banished as he overheated and was forced to park it. Jesse was much better this week, as Brad tryed another set-up that worked better and Jesse was able to score a 6th place finish with a FULL Field of 16 Latemodels on hand.
HOTLAPS......
Jesse looked better than last week, but still was loose off, Adam was pretty good as he too had a loose off problem, but was satisfied with his car, Brad made a adjustment to Jesse's Hotrod, and Jesse looked better in the 2nd session.
QUALIFYING....
Adam took his Purple Deuce out 1st for the VRT Team and posted a 14.558 lap that would eventually place him 12th quick overall. Jesse then went out in his #38 Hotrod and laided down a lap of 14.520 that would place him 9th overall and eventually hit the inversion perfectly as Fast Timer Luke Krick drew a 10 placing Jesse on the outside pole of the Main Event.
NO HEAT RACES OR DASH'S WERE RUN!!

KALAMAZOO VETERAN BRANDON LYONS SCORES FEATURE WIN!!
Galesburg Speedway seen there 1st full field of Super Latemodels saturday as several drivers from local Tracks made appearances at the Burg. Former Kalamazoo Track Champion Brandon Lyons #21, along with Randy Day #11, and Danny McAndorfer #11M, made the trip from kalamazoo Speedway, and Ty Hayes #87 from New Paris Speedway was also on hand. With Fast Timer Luke Krick Drawing a 10 for the inversion the field was set with Jesse rolling his Hotrod into the outside pole next to Veteran Brandon Lyons who qualifyed 10th. Adam would start the Purple Deuce on the outside of row 6 next to Marc Casey in the #09. The 40 Lap feature would need 3 re-starts to get underway. On the 1st green flag drop Jesse would take the lead over Lyons just before the Spin of Torch Ousterhouse in turn 1.. (1 lap had been completed) but the Track called for a re-start. On the 2nd attempt there would be a 4 car tangle entering turn 1, with the #49,87,11M,9 all being involved. FINALLY!! on the 3rd attempt the Race was green flagged with Jesse and Lyons battling door to door with Jesse taking the lead on lap 3, The 1st Caution flew on Lap 3 for the #11m of McAndorfer spinning in turn 1. Jesse was leading Lyons, with the #15 of Stephens in 3rd. Adam moved up 2 spots to the 10th position. Brandon Lyons would take the lead from Jesse on lap 6, with Marty Crawford in the X car moving up in 3rd. Crawford would make a move to the Outside and pass Jesse on lap 8 and put the X car in the 2nd spot before the 2nd caution would come for debris on the track in turn 3 on lap 11. Lyons was leading Crawford, with Jesse 3rd. Adam was making his way toward the top 10 moving into the 9th spot behind the #0 of Rich Hardy. After a lengthy cleanup the race was re-started with Lyons leading Crawford and Jesse running 3rd ahead of the #27 of Ousterhouse. On lap 18 Jesse in a hard battle with the #27 of Torch got pinched into the front stretch wall by the #27 and got kicked back to 6th behind the #87 of Hayes, and the #15 of Stephens. Adam would hold his own in the Top 10 for 22 Laps before the Car would start overheating and he would again be snake bitten! Bringing the car into the pits under green and parking it on lap 23. The remainder of the race would be run under green as Lyons would hold off a hard charge by Crawford to take home the win. The top 5 would finish

I was not in attendance sunday for the Bus race, So a Full story line can't be wrote, But from what i hear, Jesse had no real competion all-tho the rules were kinda changed before hand, as to the drivers not wrecking the buse's which made it alot easier for the win, and apperantly did'nt make the crowd very happy.. But if ya see Jesse i'm sure he'll let ya in on How much fun he and his passengers had winning the Race.
