BAD BRAD SCORES A 2ND IN SS
  JESSE & ADAM'S STRUGGLES CONTINUE!!

SATURDAY MAY 29,2010

The Anxiety was high Saturday Morning at the Garage as the VRT Team had to prepare 3 cars, as Brad was going to Race Kevin's #13 Street Stock. The Team arrived at the Track around 3:00pm with many drivers already in the Pit's. As myself and Brad drove threw the Pit's with Kevin's car , many drivers and crew's waved and smiled knowing that Brad was going to Run the #13 car for all it had. The Team spent alot of time on all 3 cars last week, But more emphasis was on getting Jesse back to were he was in week's #1 & #2.. Adam's Hotrod was beginning to show some wear as the Power Plant was getting weak, and The little things like the exhaust, and over heating were affecting his performance the last 2 weeks.
HOTLAPS........
Jesse and Adam took there VRT Hotrods out and ran some Hotlaps, as Both looked good handling, But Jesse was still not right, as he was Loose off, and tight on entry. Brad took Kevin's car out and ran strong posting laps in the 15.9's. Brad made a couple adjustments to Jesse's set-up and all 3 VanAvery's were ready for qualifying.
QUALIFYING.........
Brad was the 1st VRT Car to qualify as the SS were 2nd. Brad ran Kevin's #13 threw the Corners hard and posted a 16.18 lap that would make him 3rd quick overall in the Street-Stock Class.
Jesse was the 1st VRT Latemodel to take qualifying laps, and again! had some issue's handling as the car did'nt want to steer threw the corner,Jesse would post a 14.79 lap that would make him 12th quick and NOT TO HAPPY Adam then took the #2  Hotrod out and posted a 14.59 lap that made him 8th quick as both VRT Latemodels would miss the dash for the 1st time this season.
STREET-STOCK DASH......
Brad put Kevin's #13 in the Dash starting 3rd next to K.C Foote in the#12. On the Green, pole setter, Crazy Bob Metheny driving the #72 of Ray Dewitt would jump to the early lead and win the dash ahead of Johnny Foote in the #11 and Brad 3rd in kevin's car.
LATEMODEL HEAT........
For the 1st Time this Season The VRT cars of Jesse & Adam would land in the same Heat Race, with Jesse on the pole next to Marc Casey, and Adam in row 3 next to Ralph Wine in the #25. Jesse still having a steering issue was forced to give Casey the lead on lap 2, and then surrender the 2nd spot to Ralph Wine on lap 8, Jesse would hold on for 3rd, with Adam moving up and finishing 4th.
CRAZY BOB METHENY WIN'S STREET-STOCK FEATURE!!

The Street-Stock Feature was much anticipated as Brad was making a apperance driving the Lucky13Motorsports Street-Stock of Kevin England and Crazy Bob Metheny driving the Ray Dewitt #72 after having engine problems with his Hotrod. Also K.C Foote was going to be behind the wheel of the #12 car. Brad would roll out the #13 in the 8th starting position outside K.C Foote's #12. Green flag was dropped at 7:50pm with Brad holding his own on the outside. The 1st Caution would come at Lap 3 for defending Track Champ Johhny Foote and the #10 of fast qualifyer Steve casterline crashing hard with the #70 of Kerber in turn 3. The wreck would end the day for Foote, and end his streak of 3 features in a row. casterline would continue but pull out later with a flat. During the wreckage, Brad with the experience of Driving for years avoided the accident when he made the evasive move to the high side, But the #15 of Scott Gary Jr. made the descision to try and avoid the wreck on the low side, cutting threw the infield grass and loosing the car off turn 4 and piled hard into the left rear of Brad, The #13 car experienced heavy cosmetic damage, But was able to continue, The #15 was not as lucky, loosing a axle and tire and bouncing it off the turn 4 wall, Scott was takin in the ambulance with a sore shoulder. after a red-flag cleanup the Race re-started with Brad in 7th, and Bob Metheny in 6th. Bob was able to manover threw the pack with Brad right on his tail following. Within 3 laps Bob had taken over the lead, and Brad was right there in 2nd. The two Buddy's then set sail from the pack opening a huge lead over 3rd place. Brad made a couple looks to the outside of Bob as the two ran neck and neck for several laps, But with about 7 laps to go, the #13 car began to over heat once again, and Brad was forced to back off (to cool the car). Brad would make another run with 3 to go, But Bob had the #72 Dewitt Car on a rail and ran the perfect race to hold off the Veteran Brad for the Win.. This was the Most exciting Street-Stock race of the season!! Congrad's to Bobby!! Good job Bud.. and Bad Brad.. what can ya say?He always makes the race exciting!!

CHEERIO.......BARNEY & PUTZ WIN THE LM FEATURE!!

The Latemodel feature rolled out onto the Track at 8:45pm with 13 Cars ready for Battle, with Rookie driver Justin Stephens #15 and Adam in his #2 Hotrod on the front Row, with Jesse starting 12th next to Marc Casey in the #09 in row 6. The Green Flag was displayed at 8:47 with Adam jumping out to a slight lead over stephens, Lap 2 would see Stephens make his way around Adam on the Bottom and sieze the lead. The 1st caution would be for Adam on lap 4, as the Track officials noticed Adam leaking Gas from his Fuel cell, Adam would pull in the Pits only to find that the fuel filter Hose had flopped over to the other side enabling the gas to slush out, during the yellow Jesse pulled the #38 VRT Hotrod in quickly with a Flat left rear tire! We were on the hauler and did'nt even see Jesse till he was already in, For a Frantic Moment the Team with Help from other Crews quickly changed the tire and got Jesse back out.. On the re-start Adam was running 11th, and Jesse 12th. Stephens continued to lead, But now had the #9 of defending track Champ Luke Krick on his tail, with Ralph Wine in the #25 3rd. The 2nd caution came again for Adam as he slowed out of turn 4 and pulled the #2 Hotrod into the Pits with a Broken Right Rear Shock!! Brad jumped from the Hauler and Him and Kenny frantically changed the shock and sent Adam Back out.. Jesse was now running 11th and struggling with his Ill-handling car. Stephens continued to hold off Krick, with 2008 champion Scott Rugg in the #49 entering the Mix in 3rd. The 3rd caution would come on lap 20 for Tim Olsen slowing and pulling out, Justin Stephens continued his Historic run, Holding off 2 very quick and Crafty Drivers in Luke Krick & Scott Rugg. Jesse would man handle the #38 Hotrod to a 8th place finish , with Adam getting no further than 10th. The race would become a all-out makem-or-breakem run for Justin (Putz) Stephens as Krick and Rugg continued there advances, Only to see Justin & BARNEY make it a Historic Night in his Career, as Justin Held on for the win, The Top 5 would finish

4.)RICH HARDY
