The VRT Team headed to the Track with some added enthusiasm as the Team spent most of the week re-doing the set-up on Jesse's Hotrod in order to try and find a little more speed. Adam's car was pretty good last week and was pretty much left alone. With the Temps up and the sun shinning bright we knew the track would be a little slick, But was anxious to see what the new set-up would bring.

Hotlaps........
Jesse and Adam took the VRT Hotrod's out in the 1st Hotlap Session and looked pretty good as both cars were handling good, But both would have a issue, Jesse's Car got stuck in Gear, as the shifting linkage bent and kenny & Brad were called to duty to fix the problem. Adam complained of a Vibration exiting. The team looked the car over and determined no problem with the Car, The Track was very slick out of Turn 2,
when Adam exited, He had tire skip in the outer groove
Qualifying......
Jesse was the 1st VRT Car to take qualifying laps and with the shifting linkage fixed he would post a 14.381 lap that would land him 3rd quick overall, Adam took his somewhat tired #2 Hotrod out and would post a 14.604 lap that would place him 9th overall.
NO DASH'S OR HEATS WERE RUN, JUST FEATURE'S!

SCOTT RUGG WINS WILD SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP FEATURE
The 50 Lap Latemodel Feature for the Spring Championship trophy was called out onto the Track at 9:05pm with 14 Latemodels Ready to do Battle Ralph Wine in his #25, and Tim Olson in his new #4 would make up the front row, with Jesse lineed up on the outside of row 3 next to Marc Casey in the #09. Adam would roll his #2 Hotrod into the 9th Starting Position after missing the inversion by 1 car. The Green Flag would be dropped at 9:17pm with Ralph Wine jumping into the lead over Olson. Scott Rugg would make a early push to the front taking the 2nd spot from olson on lap 3. The 1st caution would fly on Lap 4 for the Wild Veteran Randy Morley spinning in turn 4. Ralph would continue his lead over Rugg, with Rich Hardy 3rd, and Tim Olson 4th. Jesse was holding down 6th, with Adam maintaining 9th. the 2nd Caution flew on lap11 for Jesse getting spun in turn 3 by Marc Casey as both went hard into the turn with Jesse making a move on the outside of Olson, and Casey taking the low road, Olson would break check entering the corner, and as Casey applied the break his car would lose grip and slide up and tag Jesse, sending Jesse spinning wildly into the 3rd turn Hill. Jesse would get a left rear flat as a result of the spin and was brung in by the hook. The VRT Team frantically replaced the tire and looked over the damage, and after (3) LAPS!! Not 12!! Jesse was sent back out to finish. Casey was rewarded his spot even after he admitted quilt..But that's racing, hopefully we'll get that call some night!. after the restart The #49 of Scott Rugg would assume the lead from Ralph and took the #0 of Rich Hardy with him. Both Rugg and Hardy would pull away as Ralph and Tim Olson held down 3rd and 4th. Adam made his way up to the 7th spot , with Jesse 12 laps down in 9th.  On lap 17 the Capacity crowd saw a Horrific Accident as the #99 of Robbie Hostetler went airborne over the turn 4 Berm and Crashed hard into the Supply Area located just inside turn 4. Robbie was Ok Thankfully but his nice looking #99 was Trashed!! after a lengthy red-Flag the race resumed and it was pretty much a 2 car show as Scott Rugg and Rich Hardy battled for the lead, With Rugg holding on to score his 1st Feature win of the season. The Top 5 would finish
1.)SCOTT RUGG
2.)RICH HARDY
3.)RALPH WINE
4.)TIM OLSON
5.)MARC CASEY

ADAM WOULD FINISH 7TH AND JESSE WOULD LIMP HIS WOUNDED HOTROD INTO THE 9TH POSITION. AFTER THE RACE ADAM WOULD HIGHLITE THE VRT NIGHT WITH A OIL FIRE FROM UNDER THE HOOD THAT IN GOLFED FLAMES THAT HAD ALL OF US AND ADAM'S FANS IN FEAR FOR A MINUTE, BUT ADAM WAS ABLE TO CLIMB OUT QUICKLY AND MAKE MENTION THAT THAT WAS PRETTY DAMN HOT FOR A SECOND!

WE'LL GET BOTH CARS INTO THE GARAGE THIS WEEK AND MAKE SOME CHANGES AND REPAIR'S AND BE READY FOR NEXT WEEK!

DON'T FORGET BAD BRAD IS BACK
BEHIND THE WHEEL NEXT WEEK AS HE WILL BE DRIVING KEVIN ENGLAND'S #13 STREET STOCK AS KEVIN AND HIS FAMILY ARE VACATIONING IN FLORIDA...OUGHT TO BE INTERESTING AND EXCITING!!
